First US armaments arrive in Israel, amid conflict with Hamas

Washington DC, United States: The first US armaments have arrived in southern Israel, announced the Israeli Defense Force on Tuesday. IDF extended thanks to the US authorities and noted, “Our common enemies know that the cooperation between our militaries is stronger than ever.”

This act by the Biden administration was abhorred by the Hamas militants. The shipment reached Israel at 5 pm local time, shortly after Hamas’ deadline for the displacement of Ashkelon residents was passed.

However, the Al-Qassam armed wing of the Palestinian-aided terrorist group announced that hundreds of missiles were launched at the southern Israeli city of Ashkelon. It outlined that the attack was launched in response to the displacement of civilians.

US support to Israel:

The armaments are provided to Israel by the United States to show its continuous and firm support towards the nation, dealing with one of the deadliest conflicts. It is worth highlighting that US President Joe Biden has, at every stage, assured the government and people of Israel that his administration will be there to extend support.

On October 10, President Biden, during an announcement at the White House, said, “We stand with Israel.” According to the US Department of Defense, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamla Harris talked to the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu. During the call, the President assured that the response by the US would be “swift, decisive and overwhelming.”

According to the release by the Department, the President can be quoted as saying, “My team has been in near constant communication with our Israeli partners and partners all across the region and the world from the moment this crisis began.”

He continued, “We’re surging additional military assistance, including ammunition and interceptors, to replenish Iron Dome. We are going to make sure that Israel does not run out of these critical assets to defend its cities and its citizens.”

Furthermore, the US Department of Defense underscored that Biden is asking Congress “to take urgent action to fund the national security requirements of our critical partners. This is not about party or politics; this is about the security of our world, security of the United States of America.”
